Soya is originating from the hot areas of South-East Asia, but more than 50% of its production today comes from the United States and South America. The oil is extracted from the beans of the soybean plant which contains approximately 20 % of oil.

Rich in essential fatty acids, soybean oil is used in cosmetics for its hydrating and lenitive properties. It is also used in the food industry (in the composition of products such as margarine, salad dressing and cooking oils) and in pharmacy for the treatment of diabete and atherosclerosis.
